Subjects Taught

I graduated from West Georgia College with my BS degree in education in 1984.

I completed my Masters degree in 1986 from West Georgia College.

I completed my ED.S. degree at West Georgia in 1987.

I have been a kindergarten teacher for 32 years. This is my 11th year at Bill Arp.

I am Letita Bleakley and I am beginning my eleventh year as a kindergarten teacher at Bill Arp Elementary.  I am married and I have a son, Bradley Conner  Bleakley, who is a sophomore at Appalachian State College.     This is my 32nd year as a kindergarten teacher! I am so blessed to be able to say after 32 years that I enjoy my job and I LOVE teaching kindergarten students.  I get to teach children to read----what could possibly be more wonderful than that!! :)  I am looking forward to another incredible year of working with children and watching them learn so much in such a short 180 days!

Last year my paraprofessional, Mrs. Rogers, retired after we had been together for 26 years.  I am delighted to have Mrs. Skinner as my paraprofessional this year. We both enjoy teaching our students and watching their faces light up when they master a new skills or concept.  Teaching kindergarten reminds us daily to enjoy life and keeps us focused on the wonder that children see in the world.......Wouldn't it be grand if we all could retain the wonder of life and discovery that our children have......

If you are a parent of a child in our room I hope you will enjoy the wonderful world of kindergarten through the eyes of your child--enjoy each milestone of learning as they pass so quickly and before you turn around your little one will be all grown up! :)
