Introduction to Mrs. Fortier:

Welcome to my school web page and thank you for taking an interest in your child's school counseling program. My name is Jessica Fortier and this is my second year at Bill Arp Elementary!  I am really excited about working in Douglas County.  This will be my eighth year as a school counselor. If I have not had the pleasure to meet you, please allow me to introduce myself to you.  I have several years of social services background.  I worked with the Department of Juvenile Justice for three years.  I served one year as a probation officer in Fayette County before being promoted to central office for two years as a Juvenile Program Manger for Interstate Compact.  Prior to the Department of Juvenile Justice I worked four years as a social services case manager for Fulton County Department of Family and Children Services as a child protective services investigator. My educational background includes a Masters of Education in School Counseling. I have a B.S. degree in Psychology and Sociology double major. Throughout my undergraduate and graduate career, I have continued to be a part of programs and organizations that promote the educational and emotional welfare of children.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about the guidance program.  I am here to help your child have the best school experience he/she can while at Bill Arp Elementary.  I am also here to help families in any way that I can.  If your family has a special need such as medical assistance, family counseling, school supplies, etc., please let me know.  Douglas County has some wonderful resources that are available to all residents.

If you have questions that are not answered on these pages, you can call me at (770) 651-3288.

Thank You,

Jessica Fortier M. ED
