Dear parents, We are so excited to begin our 2009-2010 reading incentive program at Bill Arp Elementary...  READING ROAD TRIP!
Each child is encouraged to participate in this exciting journey. The process is simple:
1. Children read and enjoy books at home and school.
2. Children earn reading points after completing simple projects, writing summaries, discussing their books, or completing Accelerated Reader (AR) quizzes. (The point value for each book is based on the book's length.)
3. Children celebrate their reading accomplishments when they earn the required points for each destination by shopping at the gift shop and attending special celebrations. Celebration Destinations: 
Washington, D.C. - Patriot Popsicles
New York (Statue of Liberty) - Gift Shop Money
Michigan (Great Lakes) - Pizza & Soda Party
South Dakota (Mt. Rushmore) - Gift Shop Money
Wyoming (Yellowstone) - Ice Cream Sundaes
California (Redwood Forest) - Gift Shop Money
Arizona (Grand Canyon) - Games and Snacks
Texas (Alamo) - Gift Shop Money
Georgia (Okeefenokee Swamp) - Movie, Popcorn & Soda Party
